Time Efficiency - Managing your moves!

In your work environment you’re given time to produce results in a daily activity. If successful, the more results you produce in a day, the more you will benefit. Producing more results is work efficiency. Definition; managing your time effectively to produce more results. This is called “Managing your moves” When your daily movements with your hands and body are in sync, swift and precise, you have learned to manage your moves. Managing your moves is having all required objects at arms reach, to perform for daily functions. The training ground to managing your moves is in your home environment. Refine this process first and your workplace moves will become second nature.

A well-planned kitchen has the coffee cups next to or above the coffee maker. Cookware next to or under the stove, baking trays over or under the oven, cooking utensils next to the stove, dishes and flatware next to the dishwasher. Spices next to or under the cook top. All assigned locations provide for swift, precise movements making the kitchen experience easier and more enjoyable.

One Touch, One Time. Theory; the fewer times you touch an object, the more time you save. Cleaning as your prepare food to cook is one touch one time. If you have to use a bowl or utensil’s to prep, washing when finished is touching and holding in the same managed move. Leaving prep dishes, utensil’s scattered to attend to later will lead to clutter, touching several times, time loss and stress.

Move management applies to every space in the home. If CD’s have an assigned location and put back you will always be able to find your favorite, save time and eliminate stress.

One Touch One Time Theory

Managing your moves in the workplace applies to the; computer/printer comfortable seating, fax, accessible paper, pens, pencils, paper clips, staples, note pads, files. All organized and accessible. Evaluate your workspace. First make sure it is comfortable, good lighting, feels good. Then study your move habits, the way you respond to a function such as a file suddenly needed. What is the importance at having that information so that it is immediately available and once the process of reviewing that information is completed, where does that file go? Back in the same assigned location so that it is available and accessible next time. This evaluation process applies to every object your body and mind are in touch with each day. Managing your moves. One Touch, One Time. You goal; produce more, feel good, relaxed, rewarded and gain extra time, organized and prepared for either planned meetings or spontaneous meeting. Your confidence will allow you to excel.
